28.11 | Meeting around the book “On nigdy taki nie był” (He Was Never Like That) with its author, Marta Lau, during Kindness Month at the Passage of Dialogue

November is a special time in Wrocław – we celebrate the Month of Support and Kindness, during which the Wrocław Centre for Social Development (WCRS) – Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu) – invites you to events that promote empathy, openness and mutual understanding. This year’s slogan, “Find Yourself Among the Kind”, encourages us to share a kind word, a bit of humour and support every day.

Meeting around the book “On nigdy taki nie był” (He Was Never Like That) – a meeting with the author, Marta Lau

A moving meeting around the book “On nigdy taki nie był” (He Was Never Like That), which tells of the experience of living with a person who has dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. It is an honest conversation about everyday challenges, emotions and the need for empathy towards people affected by the illness and those close to them. The author, Marta Lau, will share her personal perspective and reflections from eight years of caring for her loved ones, and will also present the stories and conversations with experts, doctors and carers included in the book. The meeting will be an opportunity to think together about how to support others and how to look after ourselves in situations that call for exceptional sensitivity and understanding.

When? 28 November 2025, 15:00-16:30
Where? Passage of Dialogue (ul. Świdnicka 19, in the pedestrian underpass)
Led by: Marta Lau – philologist, PR and marketing specialist, sociologist, and author of the book “On nigdy taki nie był”.
