“A Safe Place”: art workshop for children with Viktoriia Tofan

Festiwal artystyczny "Punto Y Raya" w Przejściu Dialogu.

From 13 June Wrocław will host “Punto y Raya Junior”, an art festival with Spanish roots, and the Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu) is joining in too!

At the beginning of June the Passage of Dialogue will host a pre-festival art workshop for children – “A Safe Place”. The session will be led by audiovisual artist Viktoriia Tofan.

“A Safe Place” art workshop

At a time when we are witnessing wars and conflicts, can we still count on a place where we feel safe? If so, is it a physical place with a precise location? Or something more abstract? Or perhaps a person with whom we feel at ease? We will look for answers to these questions together during this conceptual and art workshop.

The main aim of the workshop is to find your own personal safe place and visualise it using paper, cardboard and paint. The workshop will be divided into two parts: design and creation. In the first part, using their imagination and answering simple questions, participants will design their own safe place, giving it its own shape, colour and texture. There will be no limits during the creative process. You can come up with a physical place, or an invisible, abstract space. Once the design has been devised and discussed, we will move on to making it and see whether our “safe places” belong to particular structures and locations, or whether they are more of an abstract puzzle.
