The Wrocław Seniors’ Centre (Wrocławskie Centrum Seniora), part of WCRS, is committed to the dignity of older people and invites you to a series of talks held to mark International Human Rights Day. Over three days of knowledge, reflection and discussion, participants will explore various aspects of the dignity of older people.

✳️ 7 December, 11:00 – Prof. Maria Straś-Romanowska will give a talk entitled “The Dignity of Older People from a Psychogerontological Perspective”. We will look at old age through the eyes of psychogerontology, the science that studies the ageing process from a psychological perspective.

✳️ 8 December, 11:00 – Dr Walentyna Wnuk will focus on the question of whether the dignity of older people is a privilege. This will be an opportunity for a deeper analysis of issues relating to the concept of dignity in the context of an ageing society.

✳️ 9 December, 11:00 – Dr Janusz Maj will take us on a journey through the philosophical context of the right to dignity, old age and the desire for recognition. It will be a time to reflect on the philosophical aspects of older people’s dignity and their right to respect.

Venue: Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu), Świdnicka 19

You can book a place by phone on +4871 344 44 44, by e-mail at karta.seniora@wcrs.pl, or in person at the Wrocław Seniors’ Centre office, pl. Dominikański 6, room 15.

The Wrocław Seniors’ Centre encourages you to attend these unique talks, which are sure to open up new perspectives on the dignity of older people and help us understand its many dimensions. It is an excellent opportunity to learn, reflect and raise public awareness of dignified ageing in our society.
