Since the war began, we have all been feeling not only discomfort but often great emotional strain too. And it doesn’t matter whether you are in Ukraine or somewhere else, somewhere safer. If you come from a country that is at war, your life is divided into “before” and “after”. Many people don’t know how to cope with this.
Larysa Rudak and Nadiya Bera, psychologists with the “Free Psychological Support” project run by the Kalejdoskop Kultur Foundation, will lead a series of literature and psychology meetings for people from Ukraine.
What will the sessions be like?
Before each meeting we will ask you to read a short essay. At the meeting we will then discuss it from the point of view of the characters’ emotional experiences, fears and anxieties. We are confident that, seen through this lens, everyone present will be able to look at themselves, as it were, from the outside. As psychologists, we know that this is much safer than talking directly about yourself and your own experiences.
We will send the text to everyone who registers.
Planned meetings:
22 November (Thursday) – 17.00-19.00 Difficult choices and (lack of) support from loved ones
14 December (Wednesday) – 17.00-19.00 Relationships and closeness
Registration: <here>
The event is organised by the Kalejdoskop Kultur Foundation with the support of Médecins du Monde.
