The Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu) invites you to “Our Closest Neighbours”, a meeting in the debate series “How Is the City Changing? Urban Space and Wrocław’s New Residents”, devoted to the changes that have taken place in Wrocław’s intercultural landscape in recent years🏡
🇺🇦 As a result of the war in Ukraine, a large new group of neighbours has appeared on Wrocław’s housing estates.
What do we know about them more than a year on? How have they been settling in, and how is that process going now?
What difficulties do they face? What do they bring to their immediate neighbourhoods?🧐
📊During the meeting, our guests from the University of Wrocław will also talk about the research carried out under the project “Living Conditions and Quality of Life in Wrocław – the City’s New Residents”. The aim of the research was to identify short- and long-term residence plans and to analyse the needs of migrants and refugees and the conditions for them to settle down and build a stable life. The questions covered, among other things, the places that matter to them, the feelings those places evoke, their values and needs, and which of the social issues addressed in the city are particularly important to them. The project itself is interdisciplinary and is run by Wrocław Municipality (the Social Affairs Department of Wrocław City Hall, the City Strategy Office of Wrocław City Hall and the Wrocław Centre for Social Development), the University of Wrocław (Institute of Sociology, University of Wrocław ) and the Stowarzyszenie Edukacji Krytycznej (Critical Education Association).
