Are you worried about hate directed at young people or at Wrocław’s new residents? Would you like to better understand how prejudice and discrimination arise in a multicultural environment?
We invite all residents interested in building an open and supportive community – and especially parents and carers of young people who experience hate – to the workshops in the series “My. Wy. Oni. (Us. You. Them.) The Host Society and the Challenges of Integration – Strengthening Intercultural Competence”.
What will the workshop cover?
– The psychological traps of judgement: how do stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination work?
– Intercultural differences: how to understand them and how they affect everyday relationships and integration.
What will you gain by taking part?
– You will learn how the cognitive distortions that lead to prejudice and discrimination arise.
– You will strengthen your intercultural competence so that you can act more effectively in a culturally diverse city.
– You will have space to share experiences and analyse specific situations (including those from your own life and surroundings).
– Don’t stand by! The active involvement of the host society is the key to building a community that is open to everyone.
When? 5.12 (Friday), 16:30-20:00 and 6.12 (Saturday), 10:00-13:30
Where? Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu), Świdnicka 19 (underground passage)
The workshops are free of charge.
