Can literature tell the story of today’s world as aptly as games, TV series or poetry rooted in nature and everyday life? At the end of May, the Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu) will host two events as part of the 4th Jacek Łukasiewicz Literary Criticism Festival.

The festival runs from 25 to 29 May 2026 and, after a year’s break, returns to Wrocław with a programme packed with author meetings, debates, workshops and events on contemporary literature and literary criticism. It is organised by students of the Institute of Polish Philology at the University of Wrocław, including the “Słowotok” Student Creative Writing Society.

On 26 May (18:00-19:15) we invite you to “POPkultura od podszewki” (Pop Culture Inside Out) with Arek Borowik – a writer and scriptwriter for computer games, TV series and films. Our guest will talk about working in the entertainment industry in the broadest sense and about the role of text and narrative in pop culture. As a member of the CD Projekt RED team, Arek Borowik co-wrote the dialogue and story for “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings” and “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”. He has also written scripts for TV series such as “Rodzina zastępcza”, “Adam i Ewa” and “Dom nad rozlewiskiem”, and together with Karolina Stachyra he created the audio series “Smoczyca” for the Audioteka platform. The meeting will be hosted by Ania Głębocka and Zuzanna Krakowska, students at the Institute of Polish Philology, University of Wrocław. Admission free!

Also on 26 May (19:30-21:00) there will be “Zwierzętom – ziemia” (The Earth to the Animals) with Stanisław Kalina Jaglarz – a poet and the author of the collections “Gościć sójki” and “Zajęczy żar”. The conversation will be hosted by poet and slam poet Mira Róża Jersz. Its starting point will be the connections between nature and the body, the motifs of ritual and searching, and the presence of ecopoetry in the author’s work. The discussion will also touch on the relationship between poetry and painting, and on Stanisław Kalina Jaglarz’s forthcoming third poetry collection, due to be published in June this year. Admission free!
