The Gift of Life: a meeting on organ transplantation for Belarusians in Poland at the Passage of Dialogue

Transplantation is not just a medical procedure – above all, it is a decision that can save someone’s life. At the meeting “The Gift of Life” participants will be able to explore the subject of organ donation from a practical and human perspective – and, importantly, in a way that is accessible to people who live in Poland but come from other countries.

The event was initiated by a Belarusian woman who has been living in Poland for four years. Two years ago she underwent a heart transplant, and today – with immense gratitude and energy – she shares her experience, showing that a transplant truly gives you a second life.

The meeting will be led by Andrzej Janoch, Regional Transplant Coordinator at Poltransplant. Among other things, he will explain how the transplant system works in Poland, who can become a donor and what the procedure looks like from the perspective of the patient and their loved ones.

The event is aimed primarily at the Belarusian community living in Poland, but everyone interested in health, organ donation and making informed decisions that can save other people’s lives is welcome.

Because wherever we come from, each of us can give the gift of life.
