What limitations do older people cope with every day? What difficulties might they experience in carrying out everyday activities? Wolontariat Wrocław invites you to a workshop for volunteers in which, using an ageing simulator, participants will experience first-hand the changes that come with age. The session is intended especially for people who help, or plan to help, older people, and for those who volunteer in care homes, hospices or other facilities.

The workshop is run in cooperation with the Stowarzyszenie mali bracia Ubogich (Little Brothers of the Poor Association). The aim of the training is to support and develop the skills of volunteers working with Wrocław’s non-governmental organisations, municipal institutions and cultural institutions, and to promote the idea of volunteering.

Hands-on experience will be an important part of the workshop. The geriatric suit lets you feel the changes and difficulties that come with age, including reduced strength and range of movement, poorer balance and a slower pace, impaired vision, trembling hands and a stooped posture. The session will end with reflection and conclusions: how to help older people more wisely and attentively.
