To mark European Diversity Month, we warmly invite you to a free workshop on strengthening cultural competences, which will take place on 16 May at 16:00.
“Us. You. Them. The Host Society and the Challenges of Integration”: what to expect?
A free workshop on strengthening intercultural competences for staff of public services, institutions and bodies, as well as for school and local communities.
Integrating new residents is a time-consuming and demanding task. This is especially true of Wrocław, which is among the leading cities with the largest representation of people from other cultures. Opinion polls point to growing hostility towards people with experience of migration or seeking refuge, which makes the integration process even more difficult. One of the factors that significantly affects how it unfolds is stereotypes and prejudice, both on the part of the host society and of the new residents.
The sessions we offer are an opportunity to deepen, refresh and perhaps re-examine the knowledge, assumptions and working methods you have acquired so far in a culturally diverse environment. They are also a chance to respond more effectively to problems that arise in everyday contact. We are convinced that strengthening intercultural competences helps to prevent conflicts from escalating, as well as individual and systemic discrimination and violence.
On request, we issue certificates confirming participation in the training.
