These are troubled times. We had planned to explore the theme of newcomers as portrayed in Polish cinema – without realising how topical and necessary this subject would become. We invite you to a series of 10 indoor and outdoor meetings throughout the year, which will revolve around migration, focusing in particular on our neighbours from Belarus, Germany and Ukraine. Karol, a Polish hairdresser married to a beautiful Frenchwoman Dominique, runs a hairdressing salon in Paris. However, the stress of being in a foreign country, not knowing the language and the people, leaves Karol impotent. Unable to wait six months to consummate their relationship, Dominique divorces her husband, taking all his possessions, including his old “Polonez”. Although Karol still loves her, the young woman does not give him even a shadow of hope that she will ever return to him.
“White” is the second part of the “Three Colours” trilogy, which also includes the films “Three Colours. Blue” (1993) and “Three Colours. Red” (1994). The three colours of the title refer to the colours of the flag of France and the motto of the French Revolution (1789-1799) “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity”.

Niebieski” (1993) i „Trzy kolory. Czerwony” (1994). Tytułowe trzy kolory nawiązują do barw flagi Francji i motta rewolucji francuskiej (1789-1799) „Wolność, równość, braterstwo”.
