“NOW TRY AND GET ALONG” WORKSHOP

A school class is a collection of individuals with different characters and temperaments, and a variety of needs and views. Teamwork skills become essential – along with the experience that diversity is a resource that not only helps us tackle any difficulty, but also opens up many different ways forward.
Teamwork means attentiveness and respect for others, creativity and analytical thinking, empathy and assertiveness – all in one. These resources are especially valuable in conflict situations, when emotions and the urge to prove one’s point take over. In such circumstances, a conflict can easily escalate into peer violence. The “Now Try and Get Along” workshop provides practical knowledge and skills for managing conflict within a peer group.
Led by: Joanna Wajda (Fundacja Dom Pokoju – House of Peace Foundation)
Who should come: pupils in years 6–8 of primary school and secondary school students
Group size: one class
Format: workshop
