[PL] Join us at the Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu) for a conversation with Ihar Stankievič, a researcher of Stalinist repression in the Orsha region. We will discuss intriguing questions such as:- why the KGB and the State Archives are hiding information about the victims of repression;
– where the communists shot people and what has become of those places today;
– victims or perpetrators – who were the people subjected to repression;
– how to access the case files of the repressed and honour the memory of ancestors who suffered repression;
– whether Belarus observes a national Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Political Repression…
📜 In addition, the ByProsvet team will present an analysis of the archive of convicted persons, which is currently being processed together with the BelPol team. Using data from the archive (which contains over a million records), we will look at how the number of people repressed – including Belarusians who were shot – changed from year to year, consider why the numbers rose in particular years, and read out the names of those who were repressed.

📜 Акрамя таго, каманда 🐦 ByProsvet прадэманструе аналіз архіва асуджаных, над апрацоўкай якога цяпер працуе разам з камандай BelPol. Паглядзім на падставе дадзеных з архіва (у якім больш за мільён запісаў), як змянялася колькасць рэпрэсаваных, у тым ліку расстраляных беларусаў у розныя гады, паразважаем, чаму лічбы растуць у пэўныя гады, пачытаем імёны рэпрэсаваных.
