Not sure what abbreviations such as POZ (primary care), SOR (hospital emergency department) or IKP (Internet Patient Account) mean? Don’t know where to go for medical help at weekends, on public holidays or at night? Feel too shy to speak Polish to the receptionist at your clinic? Join our training session “A Visit to a Polish Doctor”!
It is designed to help you take a step towards using the Polish healthcare system independently and with confidence.
We will explain how to book a doctor’s appointment, what a typical consultation looks like, what e-prescriptions are and where to find information about your past appointments.
We will share useful links on medical topics.
We will also practise basic medical phrases, the names of the most common illnesses and so on. We will go through the questions and recommendations you may hear from doctors and medical staff.
We will tell each other about the difficulties we have come across and share solutions.
