As part of Poetry Week organised by the Ukrainian Book Institute, the Ukrainian Book Club invites you to a special evening devoted to the poems of Ukrainian poets. The title of the meeting – “Faces of Resilience” – captures its character perfectly, as this time poetry will be a space for seeking strength and hope in difficult and defining moments.
During the event you will have the chance to hear classic and contemporary poems by Ukrainian writers whose words move hearts and minds. Feel free to bring your favourite poem – a well-known piece or something you will discover anew together with others. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect with literature, discover new voices and share your experiences.

About the club
The “Ukrainian Book Club” was founded at the end of 2021 by three Ukrainian writers: Yaroslava Lytvyn, Anna Demina and Larysa Rudak. Later they were joined by another writer, Jana-Maria Kushnerova. Since September 2023 the meetings have been held at the Passage of Dialogue. We read and discuss contemporary and classic Ukrainian and international prose. What we read is up to you, as participants themselves suggest the books for discussion.
We talk in Ukrainian, so it is a great opportunity for anyone living in a Polish-speaking environment to improve their Ukrainian.
