As part of the “Philosophical Survival School” series, we invite you to a discussion whose title is deliberately intended to provoke reflection on sadness and unproductiveness. During the meeting, we will analyse the condition of contemporary society, taking into account various aspects of inner experience that can lead to states of unproductiveness.
What is sadness as a positive value, and what is pathological sadness? What are the criteria for each? Can we draw reasonable boundaries for these issues on philosophical grounds? We will look for answers during an open discussion.
