Topic of the meeting: family. We will talk about our relationships with those close to us, the emotions and feelings they stir in us, and what family means to us. There will also be room to raise other topics that participants consider important or needed.
From the organisers: The Young Adults Circle focuses above all on issues close to us – people entering adult life: the challenges we face, the new roles we take on and our relationships with others. The circle is not a substitute for therapy, but it can have a therapeutic effect through being listened to by the group. If you don’t want to say anything during the circle and just come to listen – that’s OK too!
What does a circle meeting look like? We meet in a group of a dozen or so people. First, together with the circle’s facilitator, we agree on the ground rules our circle will be based on. Together we create an understanding and safe atmosphere. Then we introduce ourselves and share the expectations and motivations we have come with. Once we have got to know each other a little better, we move on to the main circle practice, in which each person is given space to speak freely and without interruption, with the facilitator’s support. The aim is to learn about other perspectives and to share our own experiences.
