Everyday life at a Polish school.

Children who speak other languages, and their parents and carers, face a real challenge as they join the school community in the coming days. The first days will probably be difficult, especially because of the different language and the differences in school traditions.

That is why training sessions for parents in Ukrainian, entitled “Everyday Life at a Polish School”, have been planned for the beginning of September. Specialists who have worked with pupils who speak other languages for many years will tell parents about the realities of Polish schools and answer all their questions.

The programme includes:

  • the education system in Poland
  • important documents
  • how the school year is organised
  • exams
  • everyday life at school
  • support for pupils who speak other languages

The training will take place on 19 September at 18:00 at the Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu), ul. Świdnicka 19.

The meeting will be held in Ukrainian.

Led by:

Aleksandra Kosior – a Polish language teacher of many years’ standing, intercultural assistant and co-author of the “Starter Pack”, a guide for pupils and parents who speak other languages.

Iryna Nadvorna – PE teacher, intercultural assistant in a preparatory class, currently a consultant in the WroMigrant team.

The event is organised by the Wrocław Centre for Social Development (WCRS).

The task is carried out as part of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the City of Wrocław of 9.06.2022 and the Letters of exchange for the provision of support related to emergency refugee response in Wrocław of 09.06.2022.

Wrocławskie Centrum Rozwoju Społecznego.

Letters of exchange for the provision of suport related to emergency refugee respons in Wrocław z 09.06.2022 року.
