November is a special time in Wrocław – we celebrate the Month of Support and Kindness, during which the Wrocław Centre for Social Development (WCRS) – Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu) – invites you to events that promote empathy, openness and mutual understanding. This year’s slogan, “Find Yourself Among the Kind”, encourages us to share a kind word, a bit of humour and support every day.

“Zajawka na życie” (Hooked on Life) – learning to set boundaries – a workshop by the Veritas Foundation
Sometimes it’s hard to say “no”. Or to set a boundary when something doesn’t feel right. On 14.11 at 16:00 you can take part in a free workshop for young people where you will explore what boundaries are and how to talk about your needs with respect for yourself and for others.
Sometimes it’s hard to say “no”. Or to set a boundary when something doesn’t feel right. This is a meeting for young people who want to understand better what boundaries are and how to talk about them respectfully – towards themselves and towards others. Guided by trainers from the Veritas Foundation, participants will look at situations in which it is hard to say “no” and think about what lies behind that resistance – fear, the wish to be liked, or perhaps a lack of self-confidence.
What will we talk about?
– what boundaries in relationships are and how we recognise them,
– what happens inside us when we feel someone is overstepping our comfort zone,
– how to talk about our needs without fear, guilt or aggression,
– how to cope with the discomfort of being yourself “for real”,
– where courage, tenderness and self-care fit into all of this.
It will be a space for young people who want to:
– ask questions,
– challenge adults and established patterns,
– share their own experiences,
– hear that all kinds of emotions and doubts are normal.
After the workshop, we invite you to an open debate from the Clinic of Hot Discussion series, running until 19:30, organised as part of the Flying Hub project by the Przyjaźń Sztuka Edukacja (Friendship Art Education) Foundation, which will continue the themes of the workshop.
The workshop will be led by Martyna Dębowska – a qualified holistic therapist and psychology student who runs personal development workshops for people who want to reach the source of their being and regain their voice and sense of agency. In her practice she works with body, mind and soul. She has always been fascinated by the complex, multidimensional nature of human beings and is constantly looking for new ways and forms of exploring it.
The debate will feature Lena Bielska – a Gestalt therapist in training, certified WenDo trainer, anti-discrimination and consent trainer, and Level 1 applied drama trainer. She is the founder of the HerStory Foundation and initiator of the Activist Support Centre (Centrum Wsparcia Aktywistycznego), and an innovator and creator of projects for social change and human rights.
The debate as a whole will be overseen by a moderator.
