Dear Parents! You are warmly invited to a free information meeting where we will introduce you to the key aspects of how the Polish education system works. It is an excellent opportunity to gain practical knowledge of everyday school life in a friendly atmosphere – from the perspective of pupils, parents and teachers.
The meeting will be held in two language versions:
28 August – in Ukrainian
4 September – in Russian
Among other things, you will learn:
How primary and secondary schools are structured in Poland,
How children and teenagers are enrolled in schools,
What preparatory classes are and who intercultural assistants are,
How communication between parents, teachers and school administration works,
How the grading system works and what exam preparation involves,
What support is available to pupils who do not speak Polish and to pupils with special educational needs.
We will also touch on cultural differences that may raise questions, such as whether pupils give their teachers flowers in Polish schools, when to plan summer and winter holidays, what religious education and ethics lessons are, and what the consequences of missing school are.
