You consider yourself open-minded and tolerant, you are curious about people from other cultures and you want them to feel at home here, and yet… sometimes you get it wrong. Or you don’t know how to behave. You catch yourself harbouring hidden prejudices. And you don’t feel good about it. Sound familiar? It does to us.
During the meeting we will create an opportunity to listen to one another attentively and with care. We will share situations in which we recognise prejudices or stereotypes in ourselves – moments when we feel awkward or unsure about how to address someone who is different from us.
In a safe atmosphere, participants will share an experience, situation or doubt of their choice and receive feedback. We will learn by listening to one another.
We also warmly invite migrants to take part in the workshop – they can share, from their own perspective, how they feel and what they need when someone means well but doesn’t quite manage it.

The “Talking Circle” Workshop. We will create an opportunity to listen to each other. We will talk about situations when we discover prejudices or stereotypes in ourselves, about moments when we feel uncomfortable or insecure, not sure how to address another person. By listening to each other, we will try to learn from each other.
