At the next meeting of the “Philosophical Survival School” – “Gales? Floods? Droughts? Environmental ethics and its view of natural disasters” – we will look at the ethical aspects of natural disasters and their consequences for the environment and society. In the context of the flood risk in Wrocław, we will consider how we perceive natural disasters – are they a warning from nature, a consequence of human activity, or something entirely unavoidable? What duties towards the environment and future generations follow from what we know about climate change? Can environmental ethics help us better understand and prepare for challenges of this kind?
Join us for this important discussion and let’s look for answers together.

The Philosophical Survival School: about the project
The “Philosophical Survival School” is a series of open discussions, debates and lectures created by the Wrocław Centre for Social Development (WCRS) in cooperation with the Applied Philosophy Student Research Group at the University of Wrocław. The second edition of the series begins on 11 April and will explore questions of ethics, art, anarchism and the environment. It is for everyone who wants to look at the world through the lens of philosophy – an initiative for all those who seek a philosophical sensitivity in getting to know themselves and the world around them, and who want to share their own experience.
