The Philosophical Survival School is back! From 11 April, the Passage of Dialogue (Przejście Dialogu) will host a new series of meetings offering a chance to reflect on key issues of our time.

The Philosophical Survival School: about the project

The “Philosophical Survival School” is an initiative for everyone who seeks a philosophical sensitivity in getting to know themselves and the world around them, and who wants to share their own experience. The meetings are aimed at all philosophy enthusiasts and at anyone who would like to explore philosophy in the context of everyday life.

After earlier discussions on pop-Stoicism, artificial intelligence and the philosophy of everyday life, it is time for more intriguing topics. This time we will look at ethics, art, anarchism and the environment. Anyone who wants to view the world through the lens of philosophy will find something for themselves here.

The series is organised by the Applied Philosophy Student Research Group of the University of Wrocław in cooperation with the Wrocław Centre for Social Development (WCRS). Admission to all events is free and no prior registration is required.

Meeting topics:

11.04 (Friday) 18:00 | “Is it worth going vegan?”

25.04 (Friday) 19:00 | “Bioethics and the dignity of human remains. The problem of body farms, exhumation and vivisection.”

9.05 (Friday) 18:00 | “Can meat art be a work of art?”

23.05 (Friday) 18:00 | “Gales? Floods? Droughts? Environmental ethics and its view of natural disasters”

6.06 (Friday) 19:00 | “Info-anarchism – the morality of hacking and access to academic sources.”

The lectures take place in a public city space in the centre of Wrocław: Passage of Dialogue, ul. Świdnicka 19 (underpass).
