“School Without Prejudice” – workshops for people working with children and young people / Dialogopolis

“School Without Prejudice” (“Szkoła bez uprzedzeń”) is a series of workshops for people working with children and young people: teachers, form tutors, carers, psychologists, school counsellors and educators in out-of-school education. The training consists of three modules: an anti-discrimination workshop, an intercultural competence workshop and the “School Without Homophobia” workshop.
The workshops build the knowledge and skills of people working with children and young people in the face of growing peer violence, hate speech and other threats related to exclusion and discrimination. The content is grounded in the current social context and addresses the challenges most commonly faced by those working with young people, such as cultural identity and psychosexual development. Research shows that xenophobia and homophobia, along with classism (discrimination based on economic status), are the most common forms of discrimination in Polish schools.
The training will help participants learn, among other things: how the mechanism of discrimination works, how to avoid reproducing stereotypes and prejudices about minority groups in their work with young people, how to respond to prejudice-motivated violence, and how to talk to pupils about minorities with confidence and competence.
